Two apartment blocks built on disused land for local key-workers utilising Modern Methods of Construction, green technologies and local sourcing of materials and labour.
The scheme is one of the first examples of low technology development procured for key-workers in partnership in Wokingham District. The derelict and overgrown site had become a haven for fly tipping and crime within the school boundaries. The project is promoting social & economical sustainability within the community, combined with strong green credentials. The scheme achieved Eco Homes Excellent Rating and a Green Apple Award for Built Environment and Architectural Heritage.
