With design principle agreed prior to our involvement, the practice was asked to draw upon our experience in the preservation and alteration of historic buildings to complete the detail design of this scheme. We obtained local authority and Diocese approval for the detailed elements and furthermore assisted in overcoming awkward design issues during the works. The body of the church is subdivided to provide a worship space that befits the size of the current congregation, with smaller function rooms and a multi-purpose activity space in the rear of the nave. A full height glazed partition was detailed to define the new spaces within the church.
