Bedales School is one of the country's highest regarded private boarding schools set in the stunning area of outstanding natural beauty near Petersfield. A competition, limited by invitation, to redevelop the main teaching block was launched in 2003.
Our entry was based on two curved forms; one creating the entrance whilst the other embraced the views across the South Downs. With the influence of BREEAM gaining pace, the practice put emphasis on a strategy for carbon reduction within the design. This focused on providing the students with a healthy and engaging environment in which to learn.
