RBA Architects were appointed to lead a team to develop proposals for a fully functioning eco-tourism and leisure resort on the Island of Moheli, Comoros Islands. The brief was to create a scheme of international relevance which maintained the heritage and identity of Moheli and its people.
The value of everyday life in Moheli was central and we developed a masterplan that harmonised with their tradition and culture as well as the unique ecologically of the island and its surrounding waters. Clusters of low-energy development were strategically located to offer a varied an unique experience.
